Do you help me transfer my website and domain name from my existing supplier?

We undertake everything required to transfer your site into our hosting systems. 

 

What type of PHP and MySQL sites do you host?

If you want to transfer in a dynamic website we'll do an initial free assessment to identify what is required and advice you if it will require any additional services over and above our standard hosting package.  Most single database PHP based sites require no additional services and are hosted for £75/US$125 a year.

 

Where will my website be hosted?

We run servers across the globe, servicing websites for the Americas, Asia, Australasia, Europe and Africa from data centers in the USA, Japan, and Germany.  We will advice the most appropriate physical location for you website based on the main geographic region of your site visitors.

 

Do you have any restrictions on the types of site you'll host?

Far Design does not host Adult websites, websites which advocate extremist political or personal viewpoints, or websites which are used to generate mass mailshots (spam).

 

What standard services come with your hosting accounts?

Email is protected with ClamAV virus protection and SpamAssassin anti-spam software as first line filters. We would always recommend that customers still have personal virus and spam filters on their computers.  A webmail services is provided with each email address added to the account.

 

All accounts are given an Urchin 5 web statistics login to monitor site activity.

 

What help is available if I encounter problems or need advice?

We provide a email response service where we aim to respond to all enquiries within 12 hours.  In addition, we utilise a Skype messaging service in both the UK and the USA for customers to leave messages or talk directly to one of our staff.  You can also contact us on MSN Messanger and AOL.
